Help & FAQ

Common questions, straight answers.

Everything you need to know about how TaskEsc works, what happens when things go sideways, and how your data is handled.

How it works

How does TaskEsc work?

Three steps:

  1. 1Describe what you need. Type your request in plain English — “I need a plumber to fix a leaking pipe this Saturday in Austin, TX.” We may ask one or two follow-up questions to clarify.
  2. 2Pick your service level. Choose Quick Results, Compare Options, or Call Around & Negotiate depending on how many verified results you want (see “Service levels” below).
  3. 3Get your results. Depending on the tier, we search, scrape, and/or call businesses on your behalf — then show you the best options with ratings, availability, pricing, and a recommended pick.

What services can I request?

Any vendor coordination task — sourcing quotes from plumbers, electricians, HVAC contractors, roofers, or specialty suppliers; pricing out equipment rentals, bulk materials, or event furnishings; comparing rates from multiple service providers. TaskEsc works with any business that takes appointments or gives quotes. You cannot use it to contact individuals, residential numbers, or to request anything illegal.

Credits & cost

How much does it cost?

Credits equal dollars — 1 credit = $1. You spend credits per job based on the service level you choose: Quick Results (1 verified result) costs 2 credits, Compare Options (2 verified results) costs 3 credits, and Call Around & Negotiate (3 verified results) costs 4 credits. Buy a one-time credit pack or subscribe monthly to save up to 20%. Visit the Credits page to see all options.

How do subscriptions work?

Subscribe monthly and get more credits per dollar — save 10%, 13%, or 20% depending on the tier you choose. Credits are delivered to your account each month and never expire, so unused credits roll over. You can cancel or change your plan at any time from the Credits page.

What if no providers respond?

If every business we contact is unreachable and the job returns zero usable results, your credits are automatically refunded. No action needed. If at least one business responds with usable information, the credits are consumed.

AI calling

Will providers know an AI called them?

Yes. Our AI voice agent identifies itself as an automated assistant calling on a customer's behalf at the start of every call. We never misrepresent the caller as human — this is both an ethical commitment and a legal requirement.

How long does it take?

All tiers call businesses on your behalf. Timing depends on how fast they answer — most jobs complete in 5–15 minutes. You'll get a notification (or SMS if enabled) when results are ready.

Can I submit a request by text?

Yes. You can text your request directly to TaskEsc — no app required.

Add your mobile number on the Profile page to enable SMS submission and result delivery. Results are sent to you by text when a job completes.

What does the confidence score mean?

The confidence score reflects how certain our AI is that it heard and understood the business correctly — things like the quoted price, availability, and service fit. A high confidence score means the answer was clear and consistent. A low confidence score means there was background noise, a fast talker, or an ambiguous answer — we recommend calling the provider directly to verify before booking.

How do you handle recorded-call consent?

At the start of every call, our AI identifies itself as an automated assistant and states that the call is being recorded. We use the same uniform disclosure everywhere — matching the strictest state laws — so state-by-state rules don't change what you or the business experience.

Every call is transcribed and the full transcript is attached directly to the result card. You can open it instantly to verify exactly what the vendor said — pricing, availability, terms — before you act on it.

Refunds & disputes

Can I get a refund?

Credits are non-refundable once a job starts, except when the job returns zero usable results — in that case credits are returned automatically.

What if a provider gave me wrong information?

TaskEsc gathers information and connects you with providers but is not a party to any agreement; all services are performed by third parties, ratings are sourced from Google, and we do not guarantee or assume responsibility for any provider's actions, communications, or outcomes.

Account & data

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account directly from your Profile page — scroll to the bottom and click “Delete Account.”

We'll anonymize your data within 30 days. Billing records are kept 7 years per financial regulations. Unused credits are forfeited on deletion.
